Shiva Kumar is a passionate media entrepreneur, fearless storyteller, and dedicated social change maker. Born in Devanahalli in 1982, he draws inspiration from the courage of Tipu Sultan and a lifelong curiosity about people’s lives and struggles.
A gold medallist in Film Technology from Hyderabad, Shiva Kumar began his journey creating impactful narratives — from Ditta Hajje, a children’s film celebrating rural students’ determination, to Master Genius of Karnataka, a landmark TV show that encouraged young talent from rural areas to shine.
In 2009, he founded Deshi Enterprises and Deshi Seva Foundation, a CSR initiative caring for HIV+ children since birth and running a childcare home for seven years. The same year, he launched Star of Devanahalli, an 8-page newspaper dedicated to Bangalore Rural, renowned for its fearless editorial integrity — no paid news, no political promotions — setting a new benchmark in local journalism.
Between 2014 and 2024, Shiva Kumar expanded his enterprise to essential services, supplying food grains to anganwadis and operating a Charkha distributorship across South India, thereby staying constantly in sync with supporting local livelihoods and community empowerment.
In 2025, he returns to his true calling: independent, grassroots journalism. With Ahinda, Shiva Kumar reaffirms his lifelong mission — to create a credible, inclusive platform that amplifies voices from the margins and champions uncompromising truth.
At heart, Shiva Kumar is more than an editor; he is a builder of communities and a believer in journalism as a powerful force for social progress. Under his leadership, Ahinda stands as the true Voice of Karnataka, uniting, empowering, and inspiring every Kannadiga.
